6. What are common crimes in Laughlin?

7. Can the charges get reduced or dismissed?
Prosecutors are often willing to reduce or dismiss criminal charges in exchange for not having to take the matter to trial. First-time defendants facing low-level charges are often offered plea deals where the charge gets dismissed once the defendant completes various probationary terms.
8. Do I really need a lawyer?
A private Laughlin criminal defense lawyer can help criminal defendants in three ways:
- Defendants often never have to go to court themselves since their attorney can appear for them;
- Defendants are not nearly as skilled as attorneys at negotiating charge reductions or dismissals; and
- Prosecutors tend to take defendants represented by private counsel more seriously and usually offer them better plea bargains.
