Reno Municipal Court hears all criminal misdemeanor and traffic cases that allegedly occurred within Reno’s city limits.

Bail information
If someone is in custody at the Reno Jail for a case in Reno Municipal Court, you may bail them out anytime at the jail or at the court during business hours. Call the Reno Municipal Court at (775) 334-2290 to learn what form of payment is acceptable.
Courtroom dress code
You may not enter a courtroom at Reno Municipal Court if you’re wearing tank tops, halter tops, clothing with profanity or obscenity on it, dirty or messy clothing, or exercise clothing. Shoes must be worn at all times, and you may not wear sunglasses or hats.

Case information
Reno Justice Court handles all misdemeanor cases outside of Reno’s incorporated city limits. In addition, Reno Justice Court initially hears all gross misdemeanor and felony cases in Washoe County, but they may be transferred to Washoe County District Court.

You may not bail someone out from the Reno Jail at the Reno Justice Court. Call the Reno Jail at (775) 328-2967 for bail instructions.
Courtroom dress code
Shirts and shoes are mandatory. Take off all hats and sunglasses prior to entering the courtroom.
Interpreters
Spanish interpreters are always on staff to translate courtroom proceedings, but they will not translate negotiations with the prosecutor. So if you need to talk with the prosecutor, bring someone who will interpret.
