Ignoring a parking ticket in the City of Las Vegas will cause the fine to increase. After 90 days, the Nevada DMV will suspend the car’s registration.
The majority of parking tickets issued in Las Vegas are civil infractions. Infractions are not crimes and carry no jail time. Instead, the penalty is usually a fine ranging from $20 to $100. Fines increase after 30 days of nonpayment and again after 45 days of nonpayment:

If no payment is made after 90 days, the Nevada DMV will suspend the vehicle’s registration. In order to release the hold, the car owner will need to pay the parking ticket fine plus the late fees and an extra $15 fee. Note that it may take up to 48 hours after payment for the registration to be reinstated.
A few parking violations in Las Vegas are prosecuted as misdemeanor crimes. These include parking in a handicapped spot and illegal parking on Tropicana Ave. Like traffic infractions, traffic misdemeanors typically carry just a fine. But ignoring misdemeanor citations will cause the judge to issue a bench warrant for the defendant’s arrest.
If a person gets a bench warrant, the defendant can then be apprehended by the police at any time. In some cases, the DMV may also suspend the person’s license. The only way to remove a bench warrant is through a court hearing in front of the judge. (If the defendant hires an attorney, the attorney can usually appear in the defendant’s place.)
