To bail out an inmate at the Washoe County Detention Facility in Reno, people may go to either:
- The courthouse where the case is being handled (such as the Reno Justice Court or Reno Municipal Court), or
- The cashier at the Washoe County Jail at 911 E. Parr Boulevard, Reno, NV 89512
To post bail, the person must provide the following information:
- court of jurisdiction,
- the bail amount,
- the name of the inmate,
- the inmate's birth date, and
- his/her booking number
Bail can be paid by:
- Cash
- U.S. certified or cashier's checks payable to the court handling the case
- Postal money orders (with the money amount typed or stamped) payable to the court handling the case
- Bonds posted by bail agents (except for cash-only bails and fines)

Once bail is posted, the inmate is typically released within 1 to 4 hours. People released for "time served" are usually released at 5:00 a.m. The jail doesn't provide transportation; however, Citi-Fare buses travel between the jail and downtown Reno.
