First time DUI in Orange County
The penalties handed down by the Court for a first time DUI in Orange are not nearly as severe as Ventura County and are often less intrusive than those handed down in Los Angeles County given that the installation of an ignition interlock device is not mandated. More specifically, the typical punishment for a first time DUI in Orange county is usually as follows:
- 3 Years of Summary Probation
- Fines & Penalties totaling approximately $2000
- Completion of a 3-Month Drug/Alcohol program
- Completion of a one-day MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) course
- 6 month California Driver License suspension (but the defendant can usually continue driving if he/she drives with an Ignition Interlock Device (IID) for 6 months)
