1. Lake County Inmate Search
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office has two different web pages that provide current Hill Road Jail inmate information. The “In Custody” page provides a complete list of names of all Lake County inmates, with a “Details” link that takes you to a separate window for each individual.
These pages include a booking photo and detailed personal information. You can learn the booking number, criminal charges and classification (misdemeanor or felony) as well as any upcoming court dates and bail amount, if granted.
Also, the “recent arrests” page lists individuals arrested each day, with a drop down menu to select other specific dates. This list also includes links to detail pages.
2. Bail Bonding
Many detainees at the Lake County Correctional Center will have the chance to gain freedom through payment of a bail bond. Bail can be paid at the jail in cash or you can bring in or send a certified check or money order made out to the court that has jurisdiction over your loved one’s case. 3. Phone Policies in Lake County
In California, the law grants criminal detainees the right to make three, free (local) phone calls. Arrested individuals can call friends or family members, a bail bondsman or a criminal lawyer. Those detained or incarcerated in the Lake County Jail will not be able to take incoming, personal calls, however.
Lake County Inmates are provided access to telephones in their housing pods between 8:00 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. Outgoing calls are on a collect basis, or you can set up an account to pay for phone communication. To set up and fund an account, go to the ICSolutions.com website, or call ICSolutions at (888) 506-8407.
Using a debit or credit card, you can either fund a prepaid account for a specific phone number or provide funds directly to the inmate, which he or she can use to make calls to a variety of numbers. This application also allows you to leave voicemail messages for an inmate. Once your account is set up, you can leave voicemail using this phone number: (707) 530-2100 and the inmate’s ID number.
It is important to understand that all inmate phone calls and voicemails at the Lake County Correctional Facility will be subject to monitoring and recording. To avoid harming your friend or loved one’s case, this means it is very important that you refrain from discussing pending criminal charges.
4. Inmate Cash Accounts
Inmates can use money to purchase commissary items, such as food and treats, toiletries, correspondence materials and postage, etc. The inmate trust account may also be used for medical co-pays and other incidentals. Friends and family members can fund inmate accounts in these ways:
- Jail Lobby – You can bring cash or a certified or cashier’s check into the jail Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Funds are also accepted at the front desk during visiting hours on the weekends.
- Mail – You can send a certified check or money order to the jail, made payable to the inmate. The booking number (obtained through inmate search) should be included on the face of the document. Cash is not accepted through the mail.

Visitation at the Lakeport Jail takes place every day of the week. Days and visiting hours are determined by the pod location, as follows:

(IMPORTANT NOTE: At least 24 hour advanced reservations are necessary for visits to inmates in the maximum security B Pod and Booking section. Make an appointment by calling (707) 262-4240 (extension 8) Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Otherwise, visits are first come, first served.)
Visits, which are 30 minutes in duration, start and end promptly on the hour and half hour. You should plan to be signed in at the jail 15 minutes prior to your desired visiting time slot. The last visit of the day will start ½ hour before visitation time officially ends.
Note that inmates who have lost visitation privileges because of a disciplinary infraction are responsible for notifying friends and family. No visitation will be allowed for inmates who have lost this privilege.
Lake County Jail visitation rules are as follows:
- Inmates are allowed one visit per day
- Visitors can visit one inmate only each day
- Minors under age 18 must be in the company of a parent or guardian
- A maximum of two visitors (age 4+) at a time can visit inmates from housing units A-G
- A maximum of three visitors (age 4+) at a time may visit inmates in housing H and I (No split visits allowed)
- Children under 4 do not count toward the visitor maximum but must be held on the lap of an adult throughout the visit
- All children must be closely supervised at all times
- Adult visitors must present valid, U.S. government-issued photo ID – other forms of identification will not be accepted
- Visitors who leave the visiting room immediately terminate their visit
- You cannot bring anything into visiting rooms except for a car key and your ID. No purses, coats, hats, cameras, backpacks, etc. Lockers are available onsite (purchased for 25 cents) to store some items
- Anyone who arrives intoxicated or in possession of contraband will be denied visitation and may be prosecuted
- Appropriate conduct is expected throughout visitation
- Individuals currently on parole or probation cannot visit
- Those with a past felony conviction/prison stay can visit with prior approval of the jail commander or designee only
The dress code at the jail applies to adults and children, as follows:
- Shoes, shirts and undergarments are required for all ages
- Clothing revealing of body parts is not allowed (At the discretion of staff, this may include tank tops, tube tops, halter tops, exposed cleavage or midriffs, sheer material, etc.)
- Skirts, shorts, and dresses must hang 2” above the knee and cannot have revealing slits
- Do not wear clothes that display a gang affiliation, have obscene wording or graphics or contain any type of offensive display
- No coats, hooded jackets or sweatshirts, hats/headwear are allowed

Lake County Detention Center inmates are permitted unlimited incoming and outgoing mail. (Writing materials and stamped envelopes are available for purchase through commissary.) All incoming envelopes should include a full return address, including first and last name, and should be addressed as follows:

There are a number of mailed items that are considered contraband and not allowed in the Lake County facility. These include (and are not limited to):
- Polaroid pictures
- Photographs larger than 8 x 10”
- Correspondence materials (envelopes, stationary, stamps)
- Puzzles
- Letters scented with perfume or marked with lipstick
- Bodily fluids
- Envelopes or paper marked with marker pen, glitter or crayon
- Material that is pornographic or obscene
You are permitted to order soft-cover books for inmates, but they must arrive shipped directly from a publisher or vendor, such as Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
7. Security at the Jail
Incoming inmates in Lake County will be initially screened and assessed to determine appropriate housing. There are minimum, medium, and maximum security units at the jail, and inmates are housed separately according to their criminal charge, past history and other factors.
The Lake County Correctional Facility states compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) of 2003. There is a stated “zero tolerance policy” for sexual abuse, sexual assault, or sexual harassment of inmates, with staff members trained to investigate all allegations. Family members and friends are permitted to submit a complaint anonymously to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. This can be done in person or in writing, or you can call the Lake Family Resource Center at (888) 485-7733.
8. Alternative Custody
The Lake County Sheriff facilitates an alternative work program and a home detention program. There are sentencing restrictions for those participating in these programs and fees are charged to participants. Home detention participants must be employed full time or a full time student.
