LITIGATION UPDATE: On December 6, 2022, Judge Robin L. Rosenberg of the Southern District of Florida dismissed all the Zantac MDL lawsuits. She claimed insufficient evidence tied ranitidine to cancer. We are appealing to the Eleventh Circuit and are hopeful for a positive outcome. In the meantime, we are not taking any new Zantac clients.
Judge Robin L. Rosenberg dismissed today every Zantact lawsuit filed in the MDL class action.
The Zantac statute of limitations to sue the drug manufacturers depends on location. In most states, cancer victims have one or two years after getting diagnosed to sue. For victims diagnosed before the Zantac recall, the clock started running in 2019.Below is a summary of the statute of limitations for each state. But there are several exceptions. So Zantac (ranitidine) victims should consult with their attorney as soon as possible.

Most states operate by the discovery rule. This means that the statute of limitations starts running when the victim discovers his/her injuries.
There are situations where the statute of limitation “tolls” (pauses). This typically occurs when the victim is a minor, incarcerated, or incapacitated (such as in a coma).
Since the Zantac recall occurred recently, most victims should be within the statute of limitations. But if the statute of limitations has passed, it still may be possible to bring a lawsuit and join an MDL. Ranitidine victims should consult with their attorney about any available loopholes.
