Jenn Bartick - Los Angeles Criminal Defense Lawyer

A new addition to the Shouse Law firm, Jenn Bartick is a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney with key experience in the California court system. Serving in recent years as a Deputy Public Defender in Ventura and Kern Counties, Ms. Bartick has litigated numerous criminal cases, gaining highly relevant trial experience. With her background and dedication, she is an asset in pre-trial negotiations, and if necessary, ready to capably defend her client's case in trial.

Ms. Bartick has been responsible for bringing over a dozen jury trials to verdict for misdemeanor cases. Her past experience also includes completing more than 150 preliminary hearings for clients facing felony charges. She has assisted individuals accused of a wide variety of crimes, including DUI, weapons and drug charges, theft, assault, and attempted murder.

As a criminal attorney, Ms. Bartick gains tremendous satisfaction advocating for the constitutional rights of clients who have been arrested and accused of a crime. Ms. Bartick is dedicated to easing the path for her clients (and their family members) as they navigate a difficult circumstance.

Ms. Bartick earned her J.D. in Indiana, where she studied at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. As a law student, she volunteered at the United States District Court - Southern District of California in San Diego, assisting in the chambers of the Honorable Barbara L. Major. She also participated in an externship in the Criminal Division of Marion County Superior Court and pursued volunteer work at a criminal defense clinic in Indianapolis.

Ms. Bartick's post-bar legal career has been devoted exclusively to criminal defense work. A passion for criminal defense may have been in her blood; her father, David Bartick, was a criminal defense lawyer for 30 years, and served as a federal judge in the U.S. Southern District Court in San Diego.

Ms. Bartick's past experience includes work as a Public Defender in the Ventura County Public Defender's Office and in the Kern County Public Defender's Office in Bakersfield. Post bar, she got her start clerking for the Public Defender's Office in Ventura, then was later offered the position as Deputy Public Defender.

A recent transplant to Long Beach, Ms. Bartick is spending free time enjoying the coastal lifestyle. Her favorite activities include indulging her dog, Fiona, with long walks on the beach.
