Training & Education
Theresa earned her law degree from ITT Chicago-Kent College of Law (2005). She also holds a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and a B.S. in Biological Sciences from University of California, Santa Barbara (2001). She has been admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, 9th Circuit Appellate Court, Nevada State Bar, and the Louisiana State Bar.
Theresa Ristenpart additionally serves as a senior adviser to the U.S. State Department for international projects, and she teaches at University of Reno, Nevada as an adjunct professor. Local sheriff's deputies even turn to her to advise them on correct constitutional law and criminal procedures. Theresa also uses her spare time to volunteer as a coach with local mock trial teams, and she presents continuing legal education classes with the Nevada State Bar.
