Mesquite is a small city northeast of Las Vegas. Although it experiences few serious violent crimes, every year there're hundreds of charges of Nevada assault in Mesquite. Mesquite Justice Court hears all other cases originating in Mesquite, including felonies. Some felony cases, however, may be transferred to Clark County District Court in Las Vegas, Nevada.
