Shouse Law Group Case Manager
Maggie Shengidian
The machinery -- and often the magic -- of the firm begins with case manager Maggie Shengidian. She's the one who can get the court clerk on the phone and track down the right person at the police station.
She has the California Department of Motor Vehicles on speed dial.
"Without Maggie," says California Criminal Defense Lawyer John Murray, "there's no way the firm could accomplish what it does for our clients."
Having been with Shouse Law Group since 2008, Maggie does everything from client management, to drafting subpoenas to filing motions. A notary public, Maggie prepares the bills, makes the reservations and serves as the firm's "go to" person for logistical troubleshooting.
Shengedian is a certified paralegal and holds an associates degree in business administration from Glendale Community College.
With ten years law firm management experience, Maggie has assisted both civil and criminal lawyers. She prefers the criminal defense practice, she says, because it gives her the chance to help people.
"I'm a people person," Maggie says. "I like dealing with clients - helping them solve problems."
She handles support on firm cases ranging from Driving Under the Influence DUI in California to domestic violence to aggravated assault to narcotics possession to grand theft.
The Glendale, California native is fluent in Armenian and grew up performing native Armenian dances. Now she prefers to tango.
She's as glamorous as she is efficient and knows the ins and outs of Nordstrom's makeup counter as well as the various DMV windows. She can help you mix eye shadow with the same ease she can help you expedite your court case.
And she'll take an action flick over a chick flick anytime. "I like it when things happen. I watch films like Face/Off with John Travolta and Nicolas Cage."
Recently married in a huge Armenian wedding, Maggie spends her off hours nesting at home and experimenting with recipes for traditional Middle Eastern fare like hummus and dolma.
She's looking forward to the future. "I love kids," she says. "One day I'll have four or five of them."
